Every summer, I find myself wanting to visit New York again. For me, New York is not the kind of city where I need to fill every hour of every day with a packed itinerary. Quite the opposite. I prefer traveling at my own pace and discovering new things along the way.
I might grab a coffee on the street in the morning, visit a museum in the afternoon, and then suddenly decide to try an exciting activity in the evening. That sense of freedom is exactly what I enjoy most about traveling.
This time, I decided to include iFLY in my New York travel plans. What really caught my attention was the indoor skydiving experience offered by iFLY in the US. For me, it is more than just another activity. It adds a little adventure to an otherwise traditional city trip.
First Stop: Starting My New York Trip with Indoor Skydiving
The first time I came across the iFLY experience in Queens, New York, I immediately thought it would be a great fit for my summer trip.New York can get really hot in the summer. If I spend the entire day walking around outdoors, I usually start feeling tired by the afternoon.
That is why I like the idea of adding an indoor activity to my itinerary. It gives me a chance to switch from exploring the city streets to doing something completely different. For my first experience, I would choose the 2 Flight Experience. It includes two flights, which I think is just the right amount for a first-time visitor. The experience is designed as an introduction for people who are new to indoor skydiving.
Before stepping into the wind tunnel for the first time, I know I would probably feel a little nervous. I have only seen people flying through the air like this in movies, so actually doing it myself would definitely make me wonder: Can I really stay balanced in the air?
But honestly, that sense of the unknown is exactly what makes me excited.I would treat my iFLY experience as a small personal challenge during my New York trip. Instead of simply taking photos at famous landmarks, I want to create a memory that makes me think, “I actually did that,” every time I look back on the trip.

Second Stop: If I Get Hooked, I Would Go for Four Flights
If I finish my first flight and immediately find myself wanting to try it again, I would definitely consider 4 Flights. This option is better suited to people who have already experienced indoor skydiving and want to continue practicing.
Personally, I really like this kind of experience because it gives me the chance to improve instead of simply trying something once. That is usually how I travel, too. When I try something for the first time, I might simply think it is fun. But if I really enjoy it, I want to do it again and gradually figure out what I like about it.
If I decide to do multiple flights with iFLY, I would combine the experience with the rest of my New York itinerary instead of spending the entire day at the facility.
For example, I could take a walk through Central Park in the morning, have lunch at a local restaurant, head to iFLY for a flight in the afternoon, and then finish the day by enjoying the Manhattan skyline at night. That kind of schedule feels perfect to me.
Third Stop: I Would Love to Try the 10 Flight Shareable Experience with Friends
If I were traveling with friends instead of traveling alone, I would definitely take a closer look at the iFLY 10 Flight Shareable option. The package can be shared by up to five people for a total of ten flights, and it also includes photos and videos.
For me, the best part is being able to share the experience.I can already imagine all of us putting on our gear and taking turns entering the wind tunnel. One person might be nervous during their first flight, while another might look completely relaxed. Once everyone finishes, I can imagine us gathering together and talking about what it felt like.
The photos and videos would also mean a lot to me.I take plenty of photos when I travel, but I already have more than enough ordinary street and landmark pictures. If I could capture myself actually flying through the air, I would definitely add those photos and videos to my travel album.Every time I looked back at them, I think I would remember how different and exciting that New York trip felt.
Fourth Stop: For a Group Trip, I Would Consider Sky Master Party
If I were traveling for a birthday, a friends’ trip, or another group celebration, I would consider Sky Master Party. This experience includes a private flight experience, a party room, food and drinks, High Flight, an instructor demonstration, photos, and videos. For me, it would be a fun way to turn an ordinary celebration into something much more memorable.
I especially like the idea of combining travel with an experience rather than simply sitting down for a traditional meal.If I were planning the day myself, I would probably make the iFLY experience the highlight.I could spend the morning exploring New York, take in the architecture and city streets, and stop somewhere for lunch. Then, in the afternoon, my friends and I could head to iFLY, get our gear on, and start flying.
Personally, I think that would create a much stronger memory than simply having another birthday dinner. When I travel with friends, I especially enjoy doing something that none of us have tried before. Those shared experiences are usually the moments we end up talking about long after the trip is over.

Why I Would Include iFLY in My New York Trip
I used to think that a good travel itinerary had to revolve around famous attractions. But over the years, my perspective has gradually changed. Now, I care much more about what I actually experience in a place.Of course, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, and Times Square are all worth visiting. But if my entire trip consisted of checking famous landmarks off a list, I would feel like something was missing.
I want to have a few experiences that feel personal. That is what iFLY represents to me. It can become one of those memorable moments that makes a trip feel like my own. When I travel in the US, I especially enjoy combining entertainment, activities, food, and sightseeing. That is why I think an indoor skydiving experience fits naturally into my New York summer itinerary.
How I Would Plan My New York Summer Trip
If I were planning the trip again, I would dedicate the first day to exploring some of New York’s classic attractions. On the second day, I would spend time at Central Park, wander through different neighborhoods, and try some local food. Then, on the third day, I would set aside dedicated time for iFLY.
If it were my first time, I would choose the 2 Flight Experience. If I loved the first experience and wanted more, I would consider 4 Flights. If I were traveling with friends, I would look at the 10 Flight Shareable option. And if we were celebrating a birthday or planning a group gathering, I would take a look at Sky Master Party.
I am increasingly drawn to this kind of travel.I do not need to fill every day with activities, and I do not want to rush from one attraction to another just to say I have been there.I simply want to leave enough room in my schedule to actually experience New York. For me, that is what a New York summer should feel like: a little bit of city life, good food, great company, and an unforgettable moment of actually flying with iFLY.
If I return to New York again, I think I will still find a way to include iFLY in my itinerary.Because when a trip is over, what stays with me is rarely the number of places I visited. It is the moments that made me laugh, feel nervous, or get genuinely excited. And this time, I want one of those unforgettable moments to be the moment I took flight with iFLY.
